Ram Temple Event Live Updates: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday marked the completion of the Ayodhya Ram temple by hoisting the saffron Suryavanshi flag. Following the “dhwajarohan (flag-hoisting)” event, PM  Modi said the ceremony not only marked completion of the temple construction, but also a fulfilment of a 500-year-old resolve, and added that “our goal should be to free India from this mentality in next 10 years in order to progress.” Modi ceremonially hoisted the saffron flag atop the Ram temple in Ayodhya in the presence of the Sarsanghchalak of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS). Uttar Pradesh Governor Anandiben Patel and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath were also present.

What RSS chief said ? RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat said those who sacrificed their lives for the Ram Temple in Ayodhya must be at peace today, as the hoisting of the saffron flag atop the shrine marked the formal completion of its construction. “Ashok Singhal Ji must have truly found peace today. Mahant Ramchandra Das Ji Maharaj, Dalmia Ji, and innumerable saints, householders, and students have persevered and sacrificed. Those who could not witness this moment also longed for this temple, which has now been realised,” Bhagwat said.

Ram Mandir Flag Hoisting Live Updates: SP MP alleges he was not invited; BJP terms charge 'political'

Samajwadi Party (SP) MP from Faizabad Awadhesh Prasad on Tuesday alleged that he was not invited to the flag-hoisting ceremony held at the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi temple in Ayodhya. The BJP dismissed the accusation as "completely political". Prasad claimed on social media that his "Dalit identity" was the reason he was not invited.

"If I was not called to the flag-hoisting ceremony in Ram Lalla's court because I belong to a Dalit community, this is not the dignity of Ram but someone's narrow mindset. Ram is for everyone. My fight is not for position or invitation but for respect, equality and the Constitution," he wrote on X.

On Monday, he posted that he had not yet received an invitation. "If I get the invite, I will leave everything and go barefoot." Supporting Prasad, Congress MP Imran Masood said in Saharanpur that excluding the local MP from the prime minister's programme was "unfortunate" and alleged that Prasad's caste may have been the reason.

"If the PM comes and the local MP is not invited, it is extremely unfortunate. It seems his Dalit identity became the reason," Masood said.

The BJP rejected these remarks. Party spokesperson Harishchandra Srivastava said the allegations were "baseless and purely political".

"If the Ayodhya MP truly had devotion for Lord Ram, he would have joined the people of Ayodhya in the programme where the prime minister unfurled the religious flag," he said. Srivastava accused the SP of maintaining an "anti-Ram temple" stance.

"The SP's role in the past regarding the Ram temple is well known. These allegations reflect the party's frustration," he said.

SP leaders have not visited the Ram temple even after 45 crore devotees have come to Ayodhya since its construction began, the BJP leader added.

Ram Mandir Flag Hoisting Live Updates: Souls of those who sacrificed life for Ram Temple must be in peace today, says Mohan Bhagwat

Following the hoisting of the saffron flag atop the Ram Temple in Ayodhya, RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat said those who sacrificed their lives for the shrine must be at peace today.

Addressing the event, Bhagwat said, "Today is a day of great significance for all of us" and reflected on the fulfilment of "long-cherished" dreams, tireless efforts and countless sacrifices.

"Ashok Singhal must have truly found peace today. Mahant Ramchandra Das Maharaj, Dalmia, and innumerable saints, householders, and students have persevered and sacrificed. Those who could not witness this moment also longed for this temple, which has now been realised," Bhagwat said and added that those who worked in the background every day also dreamt of Ram Mandir.

"Today, the classical process of temple construction is complete, and the flag has been hoisted. It is a historic and deeply fulfilling moment; a day of fulfilment and reaffirmation of the resolve passed down by our ancestors," he said.

"It has taken long to hoist such a tall flag. You all know how long it took to build the temple - even if we leave aside 500 years, it took 30 years," he said.

He added that through this flag, certain fundamental values had been elevated.

"These are the values that will guide the world, from individual life to family life and the life of the entire creation. Dharma is what ensures well-being for all," Bhagwat said.

Referring to the colour and symbols on the flag, he said the saffron colour of the flag represents dharma and is therefore referred to as the 'dharma dhwaj'. The Kovidar symbol — the tree — of the Raghu dynasty on the Dharma flag is rooted in the traditions of the Raghukul.

"Trees stand in the sun, provide shade, bear fruit, and share it with others. 'Vrikshah Satpurushaah Iva' meaning, trees are like virtuous people. If we are to live such a life, we must remain committed to righteousness, even amidst adversity, scarcity, or a world consumed by selfishness," he said and added that the sun represents brilliance and unwavering determination.

Reflecting on history, he noted that Hindu society has demonstrated resilience over five centuries of struggle. Ram Lalla has arrived, and the temple stands today, he emphasised. "Truth is eternal, represented by Omkar. We must establish an India that shares this truth with the world. Our resolve has borne fruit. The work of creating an India that spreads dharma, knowledge, shelter, and positive outcomes globally has begun," Bhagwat said, adding that those born in this land must live lives that inspire the world.

"Whole humanity should learn from the character of the Indians. We must build an India that embodies supreme glory, spreads happiness and peace, and delivers the fruits of development. This is the expectation of the world and our duty," he said.

Ayodhya Ram Mandir Flag Hoisting Live Updates: Ram Temple goes beyond religion, it expresses the national ethos

The Ram Mandir in Ayodhya marks a cultural renaissance in Bharat. This cultural wave transcends the ethos put in place in mediaeval India, which was marked by aggressors and invaders, and heralds a new dawn. The past decade has not only seen a cultural resurgence but also witnessed technological innovation and a manufacturing revolution. Ayodhya, then, will go down in history not only as a religious site but also as a place where faith, power, and the economy converged under an overarching sense of inclusivity.

The Ram Mandir represents civilisational justice, by acknowledging this country’s rich heritage. It is also a repository of the collective spiritual conscience of the people. It reaffirms historical identity while, at the same time, enhancing both the sentiments and sense of duty towards the broader society today. The temple stands as the epitome of devotion, a pure place where rituals and prayer celebrate the greatness of Lord Ram, who is worshipped not only as a deity but as an embodiment of morality, integrity and righteousness. The Ram Mandir is also a uniting symbol and a cultural marker for Hindus across the globe.
