PM-KISAN Scheme: PM Kisan Saman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) scheme is a Central sector scheme that has been operational since December 1, 2018. It aims to provide financial assistance to the farmers with 100% funding from the Government of India. A total of Rs 6,000 is given to each farmer annually, in three installments of Rupees 2,000 each.
The installment periods are April to July, August to November and December to March. This scheme aims to supplement the financial needs of farmers by helping them in obtaining inputs related to agriculture and allied activities for ensuring proper crop health and high yield.
To get the benefits of PM-KISAN scheme, farmers must have an Aadhaar card. E-KYC has been made mandatory by the Government for the farmers registered under the PM-Kisan in order to obtain their installments under the scheme.
PM-KISAN Scheme Eligibility:
The applicant must be an Indian citizen.
The land owned by the farmermust be cultivable as per the land records maintained by the government.
The Aadhaar card of the applicant should belinked with hisbank account.
The applicant must not be an institutional landholder.
Farmer should belong to a lower economic status group. Active or retired government employees, pensioners with ₹10,000/month or more, and professional taxpayers are not eligible under this scheme
All farmers must complete their e-KYC via OTP or biometric verification to receive benefit

Application process under PM-KISAN scheme:
The eligible farmers can apply for PM-KISAN scheme with the help of revenue officials, village Patwaris or other designated agencies by submitting them all the required documents. They can also do self-registration on the PM-Kisan portal or visit their nearest Common Service Centres (CSCs) for registration.
PM-KISAN scheme online registration process
Visit the PM-Kisan portal.
Select the ‘New Farmer Registration’ option under the ‘Farmers Corner’.
The ‘New Farmer Registration Form’ page will open. It will verify if the farmer is already registered on the portal or not.
Select the ‘Rural Farmer Registration’ or ‘Urban Farmer Registration’ option for verification and enter your Aadhaar Number, select the state and enter the captcha. Now hit the ‘Search’ button.
If the farmer details are not found on the database, the page will display the confirmation and ask ‘if you want to register yourself’. Select the ‘Yes’ button.
The registration form will open. Enter your personal and banking details and ‘save’.
Follow the instructions shown on the page to complete the registration process.

What to do if your name is missing from the PM-KISAN beneficiary list?
If you find that the final beneficiary list does not have your name, take these steps immediately:
Go to the PM-Kisan portal and select the e-KYC tab, complete your e-KYC.
Correct your land or personal details by making a visit your local revenue office (Tehsil) or agriculture department to verify land records.
Recheck your beneficiary status. After making corrections, go back to the portal and check your beneficiary status again.
Confirm that your Aadhaar number is correctly linked with your account, by visiting your bank branch. Also ensure that your name, gender, and date of birth match in both Aadhaar and bank records.
