The Ba***ds of Bollywood: Aryan Khan agrees ‘baap ka raj hai’ as Shah Rukh Khan reveals title of his debut show

Aryan Khan is all set to make his directorial debut with a Netflix series titled The Ba***ds of Bollywood. The title announcement at Next on Netflix India 2025 came from none other than Shah Rukh Khan himself, who also featured in a humorous promo unveiling the title. However, the biggest surprise for fans was Aryan making an appearance in the video.

The clip begins with SRK in front of the camera, attempting to deliver the line, “Picture toh saalo se baaki hai.” However, the director repeatedly asks him for multiple takes in different styles. After several retakes, an exasperated Shah Rukh finally snaps and asks, “Baap ka raj hai kya?” The camera then pans to Aryan, who smiles and replies, “Haan.” This playful exchange continues as SRK jokingly rebukes Aryan, saying, “Chup! Ab main take karunga, aur tum sab dekhoge, nahi…sikhoge (Now I’ll give the take, you all will watch and learn).”

King Khan then proceeds to introduce Aryan Khan’s show, calling it the “baddest, bravest, wackiest, maddest, and filmiest show on earth.” The title The Ba***ds of Bollywood* then appears on screen. The clip also includes a cheeky nod to Jawan, with Aryan referencing SRK’s famous dialogue from teh film Jawan, “Bete pe haath uthane se pehle...”

During the event, Shah Rukh Khan revealed that while he announced the title, Aryan Khan would later explain its deeper meaning to the audience. Fans are now eagerly awaiting more details about Aryan’s much-anticipated debut as a director. “There is a story behind this name and Aryan and his team will present it later before you,” SRK said.

Another video shows Shah Rukh explaining why Aryan and his team didn’t want to show a glimpse of the show. Instead, they wanted Shah Rukh to present the title of the film. The show is produced by SRK’s wife Gauri Khan under the banner Red Chillies Entertainment. “Mein ghar ki murgi hu for Aryana and Gauri. ‘Make him do it,’ they say. They made me stay awake whole night and shoot this promo,” SRK said at the event.

Not just Shah Rukh, but Gauri Khan and Suhana Khan were also present at the event to support Aryan. Set against the backdrop of the film industry, The Ba***ds of Bollywood is dubbed as a multi-genre project that promises an “unabashed, entertaining ride through the adventures of a charming, ambitious outsider navigating the glitzy yet tricky world of Bollywood”, as per the official plotline.
