Meghan Markle’s new lifestyle series, With Love, Meghan, which premiered on Netflix last week, is off to a lukewarm — but not a disastrous — start. Despite receiving harsh criticism, the Duchess debuted on the OTT platform better than the Duke’s Invictus and polo-centric shows that missed the top 10 spot in its first week.

Now, Netflix numbers reveal Meghan’s show just managed to scrape into the platform’s global Top 10. Surprisingly, it is also a hit in the UK, considering the Duchess remains one of the most unpopular celebrities in the country.

As of March 12, Netflix’ confirmed that Meghan’s new lifestyle series racked up 2.6 million views and 12.6 million hours watched since its debut on Tuesday, March 4. The numbers seem to have given Netflix some relief, especially ahead of the second season, which has already been filmed. While the figures are respectable, particularly given how the show was butchered by critics across the world, they’re a far cry from Meghan and Harry’s previous Netflix success. Their 2022 docuseries, Harry & Meghan, pulled in a staggering 97.7 million hours watched in its first week, making it the platform’s biggest documentary ever.

Yet, With Love, Meghan defied some expectations. Tudum revealed it ranked 7th in the UK, despite Meghan’s bad reputation with British audiences. The series also landed on the Top 10 list for TV shows in the United States.

With Love, Meghan season 2 deets

Meghan Markle wears two hats in her new show both as host and executive producer. The series was filmed in Montecito. For the Sussexes, this project was seen as a make-or-break moment, ever since they signed their $100 million deal with Netflix back in 2020. And after earlier projects like Live to Lead, Heart of Invictus, and Polo failed to crack Netflix’s global Top 10 in their debut weeks, the pressure was definitely on.

Netflix hasn’t even released viewing numbers for those shows since they never made it to the chart. Season two of With Love, Meghan is already lined up for a fall release, with Michael Steed back in the director’s chair.

This time, Meghan is joined by a handful of her celebrity friends. Among the guests are Mindy Kaling, Vicky Tsai, Abigail Spencer, Daniel Martin, Tracy Robbins, and Alice Waters. Harry makes an appearance too he shows up in the final episode. While he’s been front and centre in Heart of Invictus and Polo, this time he’s more in the background, letting Meghan take the lead.
