Guns and Gulaabs trailer: Raj and DK put a retro spin on crime dramas with Rajkummar Rao, Dulquer Salmaan, Adarsh Gourav
Raj & DK's Guns and Gulaabs, starring Rajkummar Rao, Dulquer Salmaan, Adarsh Gourav and Gulshan Devaiah, premieres on Netflix on August 18.

The trailer of Guns & Gulaabs, starring Rajkummar Rao, Dulquer Salmaan, Adarsh Gourav and Gulshan Devaiah in pivotal roles, dropped on Wednesday and it appears to be a web series set in the heartland where cops and gangsters are at each other’s throats. Set in the fictional city of Gulaabganj, creators Raj & DK have enough added enough retro nostalgia in the trailer so it looks different than the many crime dramas in the Indian OTT space. The makers have billed this as a gangster comedy.
The trailer introduces the audience to the key characters of the series but while all of them look quite violent, the inclusion of old Hindi film songs softens the blow quite a bit. The series also features late actor Satish Kaushik. He plays the role of Adarsh Gourav’s father here.

Created by Raj & DK, who are known for popular web shows like Farzi and The Family Man, the series looks like it is set in the 1980s.
Rajkummar Rao, in an earlier chat with PTI, spoke about working with the director duo and said, “They are phenomenal. The quirk and humour they have is so unconventional. Nobody writes and presents a story the way they do it. I have known them before Stree and when they told me about Guns & Gulaabs, I was fascinated.” He added, “I was expecting something similar, wacky, and out of the box from them. I got such a big playground to play as an actor, there was so much to explore.” The makers have previously called it a tale of the “misfits of the world.”
Raj & DK’s previous show Farzi set the record of being the most-watched Indian series, as per Ormax Media. The third season of their series The Family Man is still awaited.
Guns & Gulaabs premieres on Netflix on August 18.
