Netflix dropped episodes 4 to 6 of Kian’s Bizarre B&B on April 15, and one scene in particular has desi ARMY in a bit of a meltdown. The episode we are talking about featured Kian, who previously visited India and even had his own mini “Eat Pray Love” moment with biryani and local friendships, decides it’s time to go full India mode. He proposed that the team eat their curry and rice Indian-style, i.e., no spoons, no chopsticks, just hands, and the Astronaut singer looked more than excited to try this new concept. The clip from the episode has since gone viral.

The oldest member of the K-pop group BTS, also the first to return from his military service, made his acting debut with a Korean variety show on Netflix. With his politeness, professionalism, knack for acting, and down-to-earth nature, the Epiphany singer has been receiving overwhelming love from all parts of the world—but Indian fans have just a bit more to celebrate. Kian definitely had a lot of memories from when he travelled to India, and he subtly kept referencing the culture in the episode too—whether it was making beds like the Indian railway style or when he suggested eating food with hands. Jin and comedian Ji Ye Eun who were little stunned at first, quickly roll up their sleeves and joined in. And the internet instantly dubbed it the “India effect.” One fan wrote, “You can tell Jin is really trying to vibe with Kian’s India memories. This is low-key emotional for Indian ARMYS.”

Kian’s previous trip to India was a whole chapter in itself, and you can feel that influence trickling into this show. For fans who followed that journey with Dex, this feels like a sequel, just with more ocean breeze, an offbeat guesthouse, and Jin playing chef, helper, handyman, and occasional emotional support. “And I am pretty sure kian tell jin more about India,” a user commented. “He also made beds like Indian train he said in his show,” another added. “U seeing this ? Them accepting and respecting diff cultures,” a third chimed in. “That man is never using chopsticks, forks or spoons again. Once you learn to eat with your hand the food won’t taste good with anything else. You feel full and happy when you eat with your hands,” a fourth commented.

BTS’ Jin opens up about Kian Bizarre B&B experience
For fans, watching Jin tackle challenges, battle with the inconvenient setup, and push himself to live up to the show’s name was a bit painful, let’s say—especially for the fandom that has always kept the boys on their pedestal. But for Jin, he wanted to do full justice to the show. Speaking to the Yonhap agency, the Korean vocalist revealed how the makers were willing to make changes for him, but he stopped them. “When suggestions for changes came up, I argued against them because they weren’t in line with the program’s original direction,” Jin said. “Regarding the show’s concept, we should keep the original direction,” he added.
Kian’s Bizarre B&B is a reality TV series featuring artist Kim Hee Min, popularly known as Kian84. In every season, he is joined by a few celebrity guests who play staff members, assisting him in running the guesthouse. Earlier, another BTS member, Kim Taehyung, aka BTS V, also took part in a similar reality show, Jinny’s Kitchen, where he worked as a cook and a waiter. When pressed about why the show chooses to create inconvenient setups, Kian said, “If you stay in a conventionally good place, you will, of course, like it, but later you might not have strong memories.”
“I wanted to create a space that encourages more interaction among guests, leading to fond memories.” He even praised Jin, saying how the BTS member helped him a lot during the journey, both with physical and mental support.
