Samantha Ruth Prabhu returns to Hyderabad after confirming one-year break from acting, watch

Samantha is set to take a break from acting and get treated for her chronic health disorder, Myositis.

Samantha exuded a lot of swag as she returned to Hyderabad after wrapping up her upcoming film Kushi, which has Vijay Deverakonda in the lead role. The actress was seen in denim trousers and a t-shirt. She topped it off with a black coat and a cap to finish the stylish look. The picture and videos of the actress from the airport have become a hit among her fans on social media.

Samantha is set to take a break from acting for a year. The Theri actress will stay away from the limelight and undergo treatment for her chronic health condition, Myositis. She will be leaving for the US for the same. Samantha is suffering from the auto-immune disease which affects her muscles leading to severe pain.

Her publicist, Mahendra, told indianexpress.com, “It’s true that Samantha won’t be taking on any new projects for one year as she is all set to leave for the USA for the treatment of her autoimmune condition, Myositis. If her condition improves earlier than expected, she may return within six months. However, the planned duration of her break is one year. She is already making good progress in her recovery, and her doctors have advised her to take mandatory rest. Samantha will depart for the US in the fourth week of August (Aug. 20).”

While she ended 2022 on a decent note with Yashodha, Shaakuntalam’s disastrous box office performance came as a setback for the actress this year. However, she has promising upcoming ventures including Kushi and Citadel. The former is a romantic drama, directed by Shiva Nirvana. The film has already created a good buzz with the song Na Roja Nuve. On top of that, the onscreen chemistry between Vijay Deverakonda and Samantha has set huge expectations for the film among the stars’ fans.

On the other hand, with Citadel, Samantha will be taking an action heroine avatar. Also starring Varun Dhawan, the Indian edition of the American show will have Samantha pulling off many high-octane action sequences. It is said that Samantha is playing the mother of Priyanka Chopra’s Nadia Sinh from the international version of the show–which makes the Indian version its prequel. Chennai Story is another film that’s part of her upcoming lineup.
