Kannappa teaser: Mohanlal, Akshay Kumar, and Prabhas turn up the heat in Vishnu Manchu’s divine tale

Teaser of Vishnu Manchu's Kannappa is out

Actor Vishnu Manchu’s upcoming big-budget film, Kannappa, is his dream project. He hopes that it can elevate him to the next level in his career. The actor, who plays the titular role, is leaving no stone unturned to boost the visibility of the period action film, directed by Mukesh Kumar Singh and based on Bhakta Kannappa, a follower of Lord Shiva. Backed by Vishnu’s father, the Telugu superstar Mohan Babu’s 24 Frames Factory, Kannappa is set to hit the screens on April 25. The makers have now revealed the teaser of the film, which not only gives us a glimpse into the world of Kannappa, but also features cameos by top Indian stars.

The teaser establishes Kannappa’s reason to resort to violence to protect his tribe, and reveals the events that led to him being exalted as ‘Lord Shiva’s greatest devotee.’ The leader went on to become one of the 63 nayanmars who devoted their life to Lord Shiva, and won him over.

In the teaser, we also see Mohan Babu, Preity Mukundan, Sarath Kumar, and Madhoo, who are playing pivotal roles in the film. But what makes the film truly special, apart from the core plot, is the presence of pan-Indian superstars like Mohanlal, Akshay Kumar, Prabhas, and Kajal Aggarwal. We see Akshay as Lord Shiva, and Kajal as Goddess Parvathi in conversation about devotion and faith. We also see glimpses of Mohanlal as Kirrata, and Prabhas as Rudra.

The actor, who has also penned the script for Kannappa, was last seen in Ginna, and has since been concentrating all his efforts on Kannappa. With cinematography by Sheldon Chau, and editing by Anthony, Kannappa will have music by Stephen Devassy.
