Devara box office collection day 8: Jr NTR’s epic action film has overtaken the lifetime collections of Allu Arjun-starrer Pushpa: The Rise. Devara earned Rs 6.25 crore on its eighth day of release, taking its grand domestic total to Rs 221.85 crore, according to industry tracker Sacnilk. However, the film witnessed a significant drop in its collections compared to its Thursday earnings, which stood at Rs 7.25 crore.

Devara, also starring Saif Ali Khan and Janhvi Kapoor, witnessed an overall occupancy of 19.26% in the Telugu regions, with about 1200 shows across the country. In Hindi, the film witnessed an occupancy of 9.77%. Additionally, the film had about 81 shows in the Kannada language, and about 134 shows in the Tamil language. Devara had about 8000 shows on its opening day in all languages, when it recorded a massive Rs 172 crore worldwide gross.

Despite the significant drop in shows and numbers, Devara has surpassed the lifetime collection of Pushpa: The Rise, which earned Rs 350.1 crore worldwide, according to Sacnilk. The film, starring Allu Arjun, Rashmika Mandanna, and Fahadh Faasil opened to mixed reviews, but bagged two National Awards for Best Actor and Best Music Direction. A sequel of the film is scheduled to release in December. On Friday, the makers of Devara took to the film’s official X handle to announce the Koratala Siva film has earned Rs 405 crore globally in seven days. The film has also outperformed Adipurush, which made ₹393 crore worldwide despite a production budget of Rs 450 crore. Now, Devara is targeting the collection of Saaho, which earned Rs 451 crore globally.


While Devara is making significant strides, it still trails behind Baahubali 2, RRR, Kalki 2898 AD, Baahubali: The Beginning, and Salaar in the race for the top five highest-grossing Telugu films. The film was reportedly produced on a budget of Rs 300 crore.
