Actor Ram Kapoor has found himself at the centre of a controversy after making comments about his colleagues and the industry. The latest to respond to his remarks is actor Amar Upadhyay, who took issue with Ram’s assessment of his decision to leave television for films.

In a recent interview with Siddharth Kannan, Ram had claimed that he had advised Amar against leaving TV, but Amar went ahead anyway. Ram believed that Amar’s film career didn’t take off as expected, making it a poor decision. However, Amar has since disputed Ram’s account, telling Telly Talk, “On the day of my premiere, a journalist asked me something, and I didn’t even know what was being said. I haven’t seen it yet. Someone told me that they were talking about Ekta, and I thought they were just spreading rumours.”

Amar also addressed Ram’s comments about his decision to leave TV, stating, “I don’t sit at home for more than two to four days; I go mad if I don’t work. I’m not going to leave TV, and I won’t leave it because television has given me constant work.” Amar pointed out that he has been working consistently in the industry since 2003, with a range of projects including web series, regional films, and TV shows.

In fact, Amar’s recently released Gujarati film was a huge success, and he has more projects lined up. As he told Telly Talk, “I have a meeting tonight for another big TV show, and I’m thinking about how much to take on.” Amar’s response suggests that he is thriving in his career, despite Ram’s claims that his decision to leave TV was a mistake.

“My philosophy in life is that I don’t care what people say or think about me. I don’t pay attention to negative comments or podcasts that mention me in a negative light. I have a very positive mindset, and I know that I am an extremely hardworking person,” he added.

The controversy surrounding Ram’s comments is the latest in a series of public spats involving the actor. Earlier, producer Ekta Kapoor called him out on Instagram without directly mentioning his name, after he took a jab at her.
