D50 is the first collaboration of SJ Suryah and Dhanush. According to reports, Dhanush is not acting in D50, unlike his debut directorial venture, wherein he played an extended cameo. Other details of D50 is still under wraps. Dhanush is following the same strategy that he adopted for Thiruchitrambalam–letting the film do the talking. He has been taciturn about his upcoming projects including Captain Miller, which is releasing on Pongal 2024.

Meanwhile, Dhanush also announced his third directorial venture, Nilavukku Enmel Enadi Kobam. The film has Anikha Surrender, Anikha Surrender, Mathew Thomas, Priya Prakash Varrier, Pavish, Ramya and Vekny. GV Prakash Kumar is composing music for the movie.
