Shivarajkumar opens up about his experience of working with Rajinikanth in Jailer, says he is a ‘complete Kamal Haasan fan’

Kannada superstar Shivarajkumar, fondly known as Shivanna, has become a favourite in Tamil Nadu as well since the release of Rajinikanth’s Jailer. Directed by Nelson, the film had Shivarajkumar in an extended cameo which left audience praising his work. In a recent interview with Galatta Plus, Shivarjakumar said that he did Jailer for Rajinikanth. He called the superstar his family friend. However, when it comes to his favourite actor, Shivanna chose Kamal Haasan over Rajinikanth.

Talking about his rapport with Rajinikanth, Shivarajkumar said that Rajinikanth was a friend of his father as well. “He holds a premiere show for all his films in Bangalore, and it is like a family ritual that we go for it every time without fail. He is more like a Chithappa (younger brother of the father).” It was no brainer for Shivanna to take up Jailer having such an equation with Rajinikanth.

Yet, when it comes to his favourite star, Shivanna said, “I am a complete Kamal Haasan fan. I like Rajinikanth sir but that’s different. But you get this excitement with your favourite.” For Shivarajkumar, such a feeling comes only with Kamal. The Kannada star recently met with Kamal Haasan in Chennai. A picture of the fan and the idol went viral online.

Shivarajkumar shared that he feels elated after the success of Jailer. “For me, Chennai completely changed after Jailer,” he said. The actor will next be seen collaborating with Dhanush in Captain Miller, which, according to the actor, will be an exciting project.

Shivanna will next be seen in the Kannada gangster film Ghost, which also stars Jayam, Anupam Kher, and Prashant Narayanan.
