Sardar 2 teaser: “A massive flood is heading towards your native land! A colossal war is about to break out!” Sardar (Karthi) is warned. And who is this force of destruction, you ask? The Black Dagger (SJ Suryah). However, once the battle begins, Sardar has only one attitude: “To heck with lives”. Thus begins the latest prologue of director PS Mithran’s upcoming action thriller Sardar 2, a sequel to his 2022 blockbuster.

The 177-second teaser opens with an aerial shot of a secluded monastery in Japan, bathed in snow. Soon, we see soldiers arriving in the area and attempting to break open the door to the building. As their efforts progress, the teaser shifts to scenes inside the monastery, where a group of armed men is being swept aside by an elderly man. With sharp and calculated moves, he pushes forward, slashing his opponents.

It is soon revealed that the man is none other than Sardar. When he comes face-to-face with the rival gang’s leader, Cheng, things become clearer, as does Sardar’s mission this time — to take on the notorious Black Dagger. But Sardar shows not a hint of fear, demonstrated by the ease with which he kills Cheng once he has gathered enough information. By the time the soldiers arrive, Sardar has completed his task and vanished without a trace, underscoring just how skilled he is.

Also starring Malavika Mohanan, Ashika Ranganath, Yogi Babu and Rajisha Vijayan, Sardar 2 features music by Sam CS, cinematography by George C Williams, editing by Vijay Velukutty and production design by Rajeevan Nambiar. Besides its original Tamil version, the movie will also be released in Telugu, Hindi, Malayalam and Kannada. An official release date is yet to be announced.
