18-year-old stabbed to death in East Delhi, two minors held

An 18-year-old man, who worked as an autorickshaw driver, was stabbed to death in East Delhi’s Shakarpur area on Saturday night allegedly by two minors over his relationship with a relative of one of the juveniles, said police. Both the minors have been apprehended, officers added.

According to the police, a call was received around 11.30 pm on Saturday regarding a stabbing incident in Shakarpur. The incident happened after the victim returned from a wedding and he was standing near his house. An argument broke out, said police, citing eyewitnesses, between him and the two accused.

“The dispute was related to the victim’s alleged relationship with a relative of one of the minors. During the altercation, one of them took out a knife and stabbed the victim multiple times. The victim sustained several stab injuries, which proved fatal,” said Abhishek Dhania, DCP, East Delhi.

The Shakarpur police registered a murder case and apprehended the minor boys. Further investigation is in progress, said officers.
