Rajinikanth wouldn’t miss India vs New Zealand World Cup 2023 semi-final match for the world, at least not even for Thalaivar 170. The actor has put everything on hold and has left for Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai, where the knockout match is set to be held on Wednesday at 2 pm. The actor was spotted at the airport waving to the camera. He was seen in all-blue attire — could be a conscious decision to support the men in blue.

The superstar also has the Golden Ticket, which was presented to him by BCCI Secretary Jay Shah ahead of the start of the World Cup tournament. BCCI had earlier announced on Twitter, “We are thrilled to announce that Thalaiva will grace the @ICC @cricketworldcup 2023 as our distinguished guest and will light up the biggest cricketing spectacle with his presence (sic).”

Keeping up with the promise, Rajinikanth is now in Mumbai to see if India, under the captaincy of Rohit Sharma, will continue to be unbeaten in this tournament. Indian team has won all the league games of the tournament with much ease. For a great fan of the sport like Rajinikanth, watching the historic match in person is going to be special. Watch out for Thalaivar’s cameo during the match.

Meanwhile, on the work front, Rajinikanth is working on Thalaivar 170, directed by TJ Gnanavel of Jai Bhim fame. The film also stars Rajini’s mentor Amitabh Bachchan. Fahadh Faasil and Ran Daggubati are other actors part of the film, which is produced by Lyca Productions. Rajini will also be teaming up with the much-sought-after director Lokesh Kanagaraj for another untitled project, tentatively called Thalaivar 171.

However, Rajinikanth will be seen on screen even before the release of the two projects as he has played an extended cameo in his daughter’s Pongal release, Lal Salaam.
