Pa Ranjith shares a brand new poster of Vikram’s character from Thangalaan, more to come on actor’s birthday

According to several reports, Ranjith had narrated the character to Vikram in 2014 but they could not start working on the film due to several reasons. The film’s shooting finally commenced on July 15, 2022. The film’s teaser had shown Vikram’s character belonging to a tribal community. As per the teaser, the movie looks like it is set in a pre-Independence era. It is expected to show the origin story of Kolar gold field of Karnataka.

The movie also stars Parvathy Thiruvothu Pasupathy, Malavika Mohanan and Hari Krishna in pivotal roles. It is backed by Studio Green and Neelam Productions, and co-written by Tamil Prabha and edited by Selva RK. Thangalaan will release in Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada and Hindi. Meanwhile, Vikram is gearing up for the release of Ponniyin Selvan 2, in which he plays the role of Prince Aditya Karikalan. The first part of Ponniyin Selvan was declared a blockbuster after its positive run at the box office.

Ponniyin Selvan 2, directed by Mani Ratnam, also stars Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Karthi, Jayam Ravi, Trisha Krishnan, Sobhita Dhulipala among others. It is set to release on April 28.
