Kavin set to join hands with Pathu Thala director Obeli N Krishna

Kavin is one of the busiest actors in Tamil cinema right now, and has given the nod to multiple projects featuring some important names of the industry. While he is now gearing up for the release of Bloody Beggar, which will mark the first festive release of his fledgling career, it has come to light that Kavin will be working with Pathu Thala director Obeli N Krishna in his next. 

This was revealed by S Lakshman Kumar of Prince Pictures on the show, Chai with Chitra. This project will go on floors after Kavin completes his commitments. He is currently working with Nayanthara in Vishnu Edavan’s directorial debut, which is titled Hi. The actor has also finished working in choreographer Sathish’s directorial debut, Kiss. His collaborations with debutant directors continues with Mask, which is helmed by Vikram Ashokan, and backed by Vetrimaaran. Billed to be a thriller, this project marks Kavin’s maiden collaboration with Andrea Jeremiah.

If things go according to plan, the project with director Krishna might be his first film to be helmed by someone who has done more than two movies. Krishna, who made his directorial debut with the Suriya-Jyotika film Sillunu Oru Kadhal (2006), has also made Nedunchalai (2014) and Pathu Thala (2023). 

Backed by Jailer director Nelson Dilipkumar, Bloody Beggar marks the debut film of his erstwhile assistant Sivabalan. The film, which is set to hit the theatres on October 31, will be clashing with the likes of Sivakarthikeyan’s Amaran and Jayam Ravi’s Brother.

Meanwhile, Prince Pictures, who recently produced the blockbuster Lubber Pandhu, have an interesting lineup of films, including Sardar 2 and Mr X.
