Tamil composer and actor GV Prakash Kumar has spoken out against the trolling and insensitive comments that he has been facing following his recent separation from playback singer Saindhavi. In a heartfelt statement, he addressed the speculation surrounding their split, emphasising that their decision was mutual. He requested privacy at this difficult time.

Prakash’s statement, shared in Tamil, stressed the importance of refraining from baseless speculation, particularly in matters such as personal relationships. He expressed disappointment at the lack of empathy displayed in the wake of their separation. Many have speculated that GV Prakash’s infidelity was the reason behind the separation from Saindhavai, to whom he was married for over a decade.

The actor-composer has come down heavily on such rumors in his statement. “It is unfortunate to speculate, without proper information, about two people falling in love and their separation,” Prakash stated. “It is unacceptable to get into the private affairs of people and discuss them with crass remarks just because they are celebrities. Have the virtues of Tamilians stooped so low that we can’t realise such imaginary narratives on social media will affect the individual concerned? The reasons behind our mutual separation are known to my close friends and relatives.”

“While I understand that such public discussion and criticism are because of the interest in my life, I am making this statement because I know it will affect the individual involved (in the speculations). Please respect the individual’s feelings. Thanks for your love and support,” he added.

GV Prakash and Saindhavi, who tied the knot in a lavish ceremony in 2013, had been together for over a decade before their marriage. The two welcomed a daughter in 2020. Despite their long relationship, Prakash and Saindhavi ultimately concluded that parting ways was the best course of action for their mental well-being and mutual respect. “After much reflection, Saindhavi and I have decided to part ways after 11 years of marriage, For the sake of our mental peace and betterment while preserving our mutual respect for each other.” GV Prakash wrote in an earlier statement.
