Filmmaker-actor Gautham Menon is on a mission to promote his long-delayed film Dhruva Natchathiram, which is expected to be released on November 24. The director is still solving many financial issues before the release of the movie, and he is also busy promoting it with multiple interviews. In one such interview to Galatta Plus, the director shared his take on pan-Indian films.
While talking about how it is increasingly harder for him to convince heroes with his scripts, Gautham said even Silambarasan wants to do something ‘big’ and pan-Indian these days. However, Gautham opined that one cannot decide such a film and make it and only the movie decides whether it is for everyone. When asked aren’t Jailer and Jawan movies that were designed as pan-Indian films, Gautham said, “Unless you have eight to ten characters and cast that many actors from across the country…that’s when it becomes pan-Indian. If Jawan didn’t have Shah Rukh… I don’t know.”
However, Gautham Menon thinks Dhruva Natchathiram is also a pan-Indian film as it is done in a mega-level. The movie is releasing in Tamil, Hindi, and Telugu. When asked why the film is not being released in Kannada and Malayalam, Gautham said that Tamil films perform well in Kerala and Bengaluru as they are.
Dhruva Natchathiram, also starring Ritu Varam, Vinayakan, Radhika Sarathkumar, Parthiban, Dhananjeyan, and Dhivayadarshini, is about a secret team of eleven agents who protect India from unknown threats. Vikram plays the role of Dhruv, who heads the team which has experts from different fields.
