Dhanush's second directorial venture, which was tentatively titled Dhanush 50, marking his 50th film, has been titled Raayan. The actor, who sported long hair for his last movie Captain Miller, has shed all of it for a new menacing look in Raayan. In the poster, he is seen with a close-cut hairstyle with a prominent mustache. He is seen wearing a blood-stained apron and holding a piercing tool. In the background, Sandeep Kishan, who was last seen with Dhanush in Captain Miller, and Kalidas Jayaram are seen looking equally fierce in a food truck. All three are seen holding a weapon in their hands. The movie has music by AR Rahman, and Sun Pictures is bankrolling the project, which marks Dhanush's second directorial venture. The actor first directed Pa Paandi, which had Rajkiran in the lead role, with an extended cameo by Dhanush as the younger version of Rajkiran's character. Now, with D50, Dhanush is directing himself in a full-fledged manner. Om Prakash is handling the cinematography, while Prasanna GK is editing the film, which will be released this year, according to the poster. Other than Raayan, Dhanush is also acting in a yet-to-be titled film helmed by Sekhar Kammula. He is also directing another movie titled Nilavuku Enmel Ennadi Kobam, a multi-starrer romantic drama, which doesn't feature Dhanush as an actor.
