“How far will you go for your child,” is a question that can stir a whirlwind of thoughts and fears for those with kids, and that’s precisely what SU Arun Kumar’s latest film Chithha aims to explore.

Starring Siddharth and Nimisha Sajayan in the lead roles, the recently released teaser of Chithha reveals that the film will oscillate between drama and thriller genres.

Chithha’s teaser begins by showing the heartwarming bond between a young man and his niece. In a poignant moment, the young man asks, “Where does uncle’s heart lie?” The little girl promptly points to herself, emphasising the depth of their relationship.

However, the tone of the promo swiftly changes, offering hints that the two face various challenges in their lives. The teaser, initially presented as a drama, rapidly transforms into a thriller. It portrays Chithha as someone who is willing to go to great lengths for his niece, yet the lingering question remains: What trouble have they found themselves entangled in?

While his last film, Takkar, was met with negative reviews and became a box-office bomb, Siddharth has pinned great hopes on Chithha. He is also currently working on S Shankar’s Indian 2. Additionally, Chithha marks the Tamil debut of Kerala State Film Award-winning actor Nimisha Sajayan.

While Balaji Subramanyam is handling the camera, Suresh A Prasad has edited the film. Dhibu Ninan Thomas has composed the tracks for the movie, for which the background score has been set by Vishal Chandrasekhar.

Bankrolled by Siddharth himself, Chithha will hit screens on September 28.
