The excitement is high for the trailer and music launch of the highly anticipated sequel of Mani Ratnam’s magnum opus, Ponniyin Selvan 1. The original, which released last year, was both a critical and box office success.

The trailer and music launch of Ponniyin Selvan 2 will be held in Chennai on Wednesday evening, with nearly all the cast members present along with special guest and megastar Kamal Haasan.

Recently, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, who plays dual role in the franchise, shared a brand-new poster of the movie on her Instagram handle, in which Vikram is seen staring broodily into the distance as Aishwarya lights some diyas. Her post’s caption read, “Fire in their eyes. Love in their hearts. Blood on their swords. The Cholas will be back to fight for the throne!”

Fans flooded the comments section of the post with hearts as one of them wrote, “Can’t wait to witness QUEEN AISHWARYA tomorrow.” Another simply wrote, “Waiting!”
