After getting a standing ovation at the Cannes Film Festival and a mixed response from Hollywood critics, the Nicole Kidman-starrer Grace of Monaco is finally up for release this week in India. Once the film releases, actor – producer Uday Chopra will start working on two new international ventures that will be produced under the YRF Entertainment banner. The first project to kick off will be a female-oriented action – thriller, an idea that Chopra has been toying with for sometime and is quite excited about it. “Besides the fact that I personally love thrillers, it’s going to be an exciting project for me because the film will be set in India. The cast and crew, however, will be from the United States. The script is complete and we already have the crew on board. Just waiting to rope an A – list actress for the project,” stated Chopra. He added that once everything is in place, he can sell the film in the American Film Market (AFM) at Los Angeles by November and the film can go on the floors by mid – January next year. When quizzed, if he has anyone in mind to play the female lead, Chopra confessed that although they haven’t approached anyone, he would have loved to cast Scarlett Johansson. “It can’t work out since she is pregnant and won’t be able to shoot for the film at least for a year and after the delivery, she will be busy with her own directorial venture. But there are several other actresses out there. Even Anne Hathaway and Charlize Theron would be perfect,” said Chopra.
Chopra also revealed that the final draft of his other venture, an epic romance tale titled Seducing Ingrid Bergman, is almost ready. An adaptation of a novel by the same name by Chris Greenhalgh, it is written by Arash Amel who wrote Grace Of Monaco. The film is based on a real-life Casablanca between war photographer Robert Capa and legendary actress Ingrid Bergman, who fell in love during World War II, and McCarthy witch hunts. “We still haven’t finalised the cast and crew of the film, so it will take off only after the work on our untitled thriller starts. But in between Grace of Monaco and the other two projects, our next film – The Longest Week, starring Jason Bateman and Olivia Wilde, will hit the screens in India very soon,” stated Chopra.
