He’s the man behind the music of Murder 2 and Hate Story. After composing the music of two thrillers, Harshit Saxena is now directing the music for Super Nani — a family entertainer.
Talking about the music of the film, he says, “Induji (Indra Kumar) is very particular about the music, especially when the story has drama, sentiments and masti. It was challenging to picturise a song on Rekha ji.”
The composer, who has done a devotional number, Prabhu mere ghar ko, says composing a bhajan in today’s time is a tricky business as racy, high-octane music tracks are in demand. Saxena says that the director, through the music of the film, wanted to bring out the suppressed emotions of the youngsters that is in sync with the sentimental mood of the film.
The composer, who was on a hiatus for two years, says, “I got many offers to do smaller films, but I wanted to work for a big banner as I wanted my songs to get the due.”
He further says that he was apprehensive about taking up small-budget films because till few years ago, such movies were not promoted as aggressively as they are done now. To further elucidate his point, he cites the example of the two installments of Ragini MMS, “While not many remember the songs from Ragini MMS (2011), Baby doll and Chaar bottle vodka from Ragini MMS 2 (March 2014) became chartbusters,” he says.
