About two weeks before Rahul Khanna started shooting for his upcoming Fireflies, a film about two estranged brothers who meet after 15 years, he recalls, fracturing his fingers in an accident. His fingers swelled and his nails turned blackish blue and despite all efforts by the team, it could not be camouflaged by cosmetic procedures. He had to wear a band aid throughout the film!
“For some reason I was struck by physical injuries. When we were shooting in Sri Lanka, I went swimming one day and was attacked by a 1000 flies and was left with red marks all over my back! and I had to shoot a scene where I had to take my shirt off. Understandably, everyone panicked, but thankfully we had a great cinematographer who managed to disguise it beautifully. But that was not the end of my woes. In Mumbai, for inexplicable reasons I developed a huge pimple on my forehead and it was so big that we could not cover it with make-up. I shot with it and it had to be digitally removed in post- production,” laughed Khanna!
Fireflies which is directed by adman turned director Sabal Singh Shekhawat releases on October 31.
