Ragini Khanna to host a comedy show

“I think I'm just going to bring in my own personality to the table. But I'm still figuring out how I'm going to add to it since we haven't begun shooting yet.," said Ragini Khanna.

Ragini Khanna, who is known for shows like Sasural Genda Phool and Bhaskar Bharati, will now be seen hosting a comedy show for Zee TV. Earlier Khanna had hosted Jhalak Dikhlaja season five.

Titled Gangs Of Hasseepur, the show will be a satire on politics. While stand-up comedians Raju Shrivastav, Bharti Singh and Suresh Menon will be a part of the show, Mandira Bedi and Tanisha Mukerji will be seen as judges.

Ask Ragini Khanna about her contribution to the show as a host, and she says, “I think I’m just going to bring in my own personality to the table. But I’m still figuring out how I’m going to add to it since we haven’t begun shooting yet. We’re still into a lot of creative discussions,” adding that, “The show is a satire on current affairs. And since politics is the most talked these days because of elections, it shall be relevant. Basically, we are going to laugh at our own sorrows.”

With already a string of comedy shows on television, ask Khanna the kind of humour she likes, and she replies, “I love situational comedy and characters who speak for themselves and hate over-the-top, forced humour.”
