M C Mary Kom’s hometown is missing the screening of the biopic on the boxing champion, as no theatre in Manipur is screening the film due to a ban by insurgency outfits. The boxer is unhappy that while people everywhere are seeing the film made on her life, people in Manipur are unable to watch it. Since September 2000, Hindi films are banned in Manipur  by separatist militant group, Revolutionary Peoples Front which claims that Bollywood goes against Manipuri values. Both the government and Mary Kom preferred not to stoke the fiery issue.

Legal action

CBI, which is probing the alleged bribery case involving Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) CEO Rakesh Kumar, is contemplating filing a case of Disproportionate Assets (DA) against him. A special CBI court had recently remanded Kumar to judicial custody till September 12 and Kumar was lodged in Taloja Jail in Navi Mumbai. He was arrested on August 18 by CBI after a Censor Board agent and a member of advisory panel of the Board were arrested.
