Channel V’s next in the pipeline is Banarsi Babe

After the successful Sadda Haq on Channel V, producer Yash Patnaik is now working on a show titled Banarasi Babe. A reliable source from the production house says that the shoot for the show is already on in Varanasi, and the lead is being played by Sharmin Kazi, who has done a small role in Gustak Dil earlier.
The story is of an extremely ambitious girl from a middle class family, who can go to any length to fulfill her goals. According to the source, the show will capture the essence of youth in Varanasi, something that hasn’t really been captured by any of the television shows till now. The show is expected to go on air in the second week of December.
Since the show will move to Mumbai eventually, a set with the essence of Varanasi is being constructed in Mumbai as well. Patnaik, however, remained unavailable for comment. Even Ajit Thakur, the channel’s head, did not revert to our message of confirmation,
