Shahid Kapoor gifted his father, actor-director Pankaj Kapur a brand new Mercedes car on his 60th birthday on May 29. He even threw a party for his dad at a nightclub in Juhu where he drove his entire family, including Supriya Pathak and his siblings Ruhaan and Sanah. Following the new car was another car with a trunk full of birthday gifts. Seen at the party were Vidya Balan, Dia Mirza, Sudhir Mishra and Vidhu Vinod Chopra who were present to wish Kapur.
Ceiling collapse
The false ceiling of Sushmita Sen’s Mumbai residence collapsed recently. The grill pins gave away resulting in the collapse of an entire section of the false ceiling. The actress tweeted about it, “This morning an entire section of a false ceiling at home collapsed..d grill pins gave way. I’ve never seen anything like it..very scary! Power of God’s grace n all ur love n blessings dat despite such a collapse..not a soul was hurt. Thank God!Something big was averted. Love u!”
Legal notice
Priyanka Chopra has sent a legal notice to Aseem Merchant who, allegedly dated Priyanka when she was a model. The notice was sent because of his intention to make a biopic on the actress. She has accused him of violating her right to privacy. The notice demanded that Merchant withdraw all the publicity material of the film with immediate effect and refrain from referring to any personal or confidential information about her and/or her family.
Memorial service
Exactly a year after the death of actress Jiah Khan under mysterious circumstances, a memorial service was held at the Chelsea Town Hall in London with her mother Rabiya Amin, family and friends in attendance. Jiah’s mother, who is still challenging the cause of her daughter’s death, has now sought the help of the British police to investigate her daughter’s death, and has also written to William Hague (Foreign Secretary) to get justice for her daughter
