Portraying Kangana Ranaut as a plain girl was difficult, according to Vikas Behl, the director of Queen

For director Vikas Behl making the beautiful Kangana Ranaut look like an ordinary and simple girl was the most challenging part while shooting Queen. In fact the brief to the stylist was to make Kangana look like someone who could be missed in a crowd of 10!
“When this was sorted, came the part of showing her living the life of a simple girl mingling with nondescript people. We shot for a week in Delhi in popular areas like South Extension, Alaknanda, the Central Market etc. We have shown her travelling in three wheelers and local buses and sauntering on the streets popping golgapas and ice creams which all girls do. There was a crowd of 10,000 people when we shot some scenes in Delhi’s Central Market. But thanks to the cops who controlled the crowds, everything went off without a hitch. Since the crowd was required for the scene, we told them to go about their routine, except look into the camera and it worked,” said Behl.
Queen, which is produced by Phantom Films, also stars Rajkummar Rao and Lisa Haydon.
