A weighty issue

Arunoday Singh’s weight was a cause of major concern while shooting a crane sequence in Main Tera Hero

It was a regular action sequence in Main Tera Hero, where Arunoday Singh, who plays a cop in the film, had to be shown suspended by a cable before he lands in a swimming pool below. The interesting part was that the shooting was in Bangkok where the men are generally small built. Compared to them, Singh who weighs 100 kilos and the 5ft. 9 tall Nargis Fakhri, who also had to be suspended, towered over them. Understandably, when the stuntman, unaware of the physique of the actors, came on the sets, he panicked and made it clear that the cable would not be able to take their weight.
“The expression on his face is something I still cannot forget. I watched as an argument ensued between him and David Dhawan (the film’s director) as they got into an intense discussion, trying to make each other understand. The stuntman, however, refused to give in and the shooting was cancelled. The next day, an industrial crane was brought in to shoot the scene,” laughed Singh.
Singh revealed that in the film, Varun Dhawan and he are in love with Ileana D’Cruz, and there are a lot of Tom and Jerry kind of chase sequences through streets. “The film is a comic caper and there are many hilarious moments in the film as I will be shown fumbling and falling a lot,” laughed Singh.
Main Tera Hero which is produced by Balaji Motion Pictures releases on April 4.

Rishi Kapoor, Paresh Rawal and Payal Ghosh in Sanjay Chhel’s untitled film

Rishi Kapoor and Paresh Rawal shot for a Mata ki chowki song for Sanjay Chhel’s untitled film. The situation is that Vir Das wants to woo Paresh Rawal’s daughter, played by Payal Ghosh, and has organised a Mata ki chowki as he wants to impress him. “It’s a very funky, happening Mata song which even the youth will like. But I must mention that during the shooting I was very impressed by Rishi Kapoor who is a mata bhakt. He gave valuable inputs like how the joyt is made and that dry fruit is distributed to people etc.,” said Chhel.
Choreographed by Ganesh Acharya, the song was shot over four days at Mumbai’s Madh island. The film is 70 per cent complete and the remaining portions will be shot during March and April.
