Although he began with the small screen — as a jawaan in Fauji, it was not long before Shah Rukh Khan scorched the big screen with his dramatic performances. After his debut with Deewana in 1992, he showcased his mean side in films like Darr (1993), Baazigar (1993) and Anjaam (1994), he gained popularity as the king of romance in films like Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge (1995), Dil To Pagal Hai (1997), Kuch Kuch Hota Hai (1998), Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham (2001), Devdas (2002), Om Shanti Om (2007). His recent blockbuster hit Chennai Express, broke the record of entering the Rs.100 crore club in the first weekend itself, a feat that was surpassed later by Dhoom 3. It also won him the Best Actor Popular Award this year.
Having been nominated 24 times, the actor has walked away with the golden lady on 14 occasions, including four for best actor, six awards for Jodi No 1 and the Screen trophy of Best Jodi of the Decade with Kajol.
Hailed as one of the most successful and popular actor, Khan has earned the sobriquet of Badshah of Bollywood.
