Expect a mind-blowing performance, when Shahid Kapoor takes over the dance floor. And this is exactly what happened on the finale night when the actor dressed as a tapori, in a multi-coloured stripe shirt, made an entry in a helicopter set-up, with fireworks emitting from the fan. Loud wolf whistles were heard from the audience, as he performed on the songs Gandi baat, Dhating naach and Agal bagal from his recent movies. Paying a tribute to all the heroes like Anil Kapoor, Jackie Shroff, who’ve played tapori roles in their films, Kapoor had the audience asking for more.

To the sound of music that reverberated in the air and an awe-inspiring display of fireworks, the Golden lady with the sparkling crystal—the Screen trophy was unveiled.

Despite being a good dancer, Shahid Kapoor does not believe in taking his work for granted. Instead, as a performer, he tries to raise the bar, each time he steps on the stage. So, it was not surprising to see Kapoor sweating it out at the rehearsals. A day before the awards, dressed in complete black, sporting dark sunglasses, a thick beard and long hair, the actor continued to rehearse for his act, till he felt that he had mastered the steps. To keep his energy levels high, Kapoor was spotted sipping on a protein shake, that his man Friday would get him at regular intervals.
Fussing over a banana that had turned black, Kapoor finally bit into one, after the man Friday procured a fruit fit for the Rajkumar to eat. He continued rehearsing even on the next day, sporting a bright pink t-shirt and cap.
While, Shahid and SRK occupied two ends of the stage as they rehearsed for their acts, Khan kept a keen eye on Kapoor’s performance. Later, the duo were also seen sharing a joke about their ponytail. Kapoor who kept fidgeting with his hair, was told by a few girls not to go bald in the film Haider.
