Vijay turns down Sundar C’s Sanghamitra
Vijay reportedly turned down the offer as the actor was not ready to set aside over a year on the project.

Tamil superstar Vijay has turned down an offer to star in filmmaker Sundar C’s upcoming highly ambitious Tamil mega budget project Sanghamitra, which is tipped to be made on a higher budget than Baahubali.
“It’s true that Vijay was approached with the offer. Since he was expected to set aside over a year on the project, he was left with no other option then turn it down. At this stage in his career, Vijay doesn’t want to spend over a year on a project,” a source close to Vijay, told IANS.
To be made on a budget of Rs 350 crore, the project is being bankrolled by Thenandal Films. While the lead cast is yet to be finalised, Sundar has already locked his technical crew. A.R. Rahman will compose the tunes, R.C. Kamalakannan will take care of the visual effects department and Sudeep Chatterjee will crank the camera. National Award winning art director Sabu Cyril will look after the art direction.
Meanwhile, Actor Vijay’s next yet-untitled Tamil fantasy drama, which features Bollywood actress Sridevi, went on floors on Monday. The makers are likely to shoot a song featuring over 100 dancers on the first day.
“The film went on floors on a grand set erected near ECR beach near Pannaiyur this morning. The team plans to shoot a song featuring over 100 dancers. They might also shoot an action sequence if time permits,” a source from the film’s unit told IANS.
The first schedule at Pannaiyur will go on for 45 days. The crew will then head to a different location. Also starring Shruti Haasan, Hansika Motwani and Kiccha Sudeep, the film is being directed by Chimbu Devan. Sridevi will reportedly play Hansika’s mother in the movie.
