Kabzaa director R Chandru says film’s sequel is going to be ‘bigger and better’
Upendra, Sudeep, Shivarajkumar and Shriya Saran starrer Kabzaa is directed and co-produced by R Chandru.

Upendra, Sudeep, Shivarajkumar and Shriya Saran starrer Kabzaa released across India on March 17. Despite the poor reviews, the film’s director and co-producer R Chandru has already set his mind on the second part of the film, which he promises will be a grand affair.
In an interview with Times of India, Chandru revealed that he will take a short break and then start work on Kabzaa 2. The filmmaker added, “I can promise that it will be bigger and better.”
Kabzaa also stars Sudha, Murali Sharma, Nawab Shah, Suneel Puranik, John Kokken, Dev Gill, Kabir Duhan Singh, Danish Akhtar Saifi, Kota Srinivasa Rao and Posani Krishna Murali. The film, said to be produced on a massive budget of Rs 120 crore, has earned over Rs 25 crore so far.
After the release of film’s trailer, Upendra had reacted on the comparison with Yash’s KGF. The actor had told indianexpress.com, “When the teaser dropped, people were talking a lot about how it looked like KGF. However, after the trailer, they understood how it was a very different story. Now I think there are no more such comparisons happening. Honestly, I want to request people to not compare the two films, it’s not fair. Every project has its own merits”
In indianexpress.com’s review of Kabzaa, Kirubhakar Purshotham wrote, “The success of KGF is a milestone event in Kannada cinema, and that is bound to inspire some insipid films like Kabzaa. This was always coming and one can bet that such tiresome affairs are not going to stop. Kabzaa is just the beginning of this phase that will implode after crores of money are spent on such damp squibs and when the name KGF starts leaving a bad aftertaste in the mouth because of such redundant attempts.”
