The censor board has paved way for the worldwide release of actor Dhanush’s Kodi by clearing the film with a clean ‘U’ certificate. The film will now release as scheduled on October 28, clashing with Karthi’s Kaashmora.
After finishing censor board formalities, Dhanush said he was excited and thrilled ahead of the release. “#kodi has been censored with ‘U’ certificate. #diwali2016 #kodiparakkudha excited and thrilled,” he tweeted.
Politician Dhanush sports a thick beard and swag of a powerful leader, while the clean shaven Dhanush glows with boyish charm. The plot details of Kodi are scarce. However, a confrontation between twin brothers is said to form the crux of the film.
Trisha and Anupama Parameswaran are playing the female leads in the film. Trisha, one of the senior actors of Kollywood, has an eclectic mix of roles. Going by the trailer, her role is equivalent to her male counterpart as she is seen crossing swords with politician Dhanush.
Director Senthilkumar holds a good winning record at the box office. His previous hits like Ethir Neechal and Khaki Sathai had Sivakarthikeyan in the lead role and were produced by Dhanush’s home production Wunderbar Films. Kodi is bankrolled by director Vetrimaaran’s Grass Root Film Company along with Escape Artists Motion Pictures, and has music from Santhosh Narayana.
Kodi, meanwhile, is also an important film for Dhanush, given that his last outing, Thodari, fizzled out at the box office.
