Diljit Dosanjh’s high-voltage Coachella act gets an Amul topical, fans say ‘Proud moment’

Singer and actor Diljit Dosanjh recently became the first Indian artiste to perform at the American music festival of Coachella. The official handle of the festival shared clips and images from his performance where the audience could be seen grooving to some desi beats as Dosanjh greeted them in his mother tongue.

To honour Diljit’s act, dairy company Amul India shared an adorable sketch of Dosanjh depicting his high-voltage act from Coachella. “#Amul Topical: Diljit Dosanjh, first Indian artist to perform at the prestigious music and arts festival!” read the post’s caption. A user wrote, “Proud moment for India.” Another wrote, “India’s on fire.” A third person commented, tagging the singer-actor, “Bro u need to see this… Just how much u made us proud.”

Not only South Asians, but international artistes such as Diplo were also seen swaying to Diljit’s music as the former shared a moment from Coachella enjoying himself while Diljit played live in front of him. Several celebrities also took to social media to congratulate Diljit for this new feather in his cap. From Arjun Kapoor, Varun Dhawan to Kareena Kapoor Khan and Alia Bhatt as well as Malaika Arora, the singer was tagged as G.O.A.T (an internet slang for the Greatest Of All Time) by his colleagues.

Even the Mozart of Madras, Oscar-winning composer and singer AR Rahman was effusive in his praise of Diljit as he tweeted, “This year has been amazing for Indian artists ..,Grammys, Golden globes, Oscars and this ……. Our @Diljitdosanjh.” Apart from Diljit Dosanjh, another desi singer who performed at Coachella was Pasoori fame Ali Sethi, who hails from Pakistan.

Meanwhile, Diljit has finished shooting for Imtiaz Ali directorial Chamkila, where he will be seen sharing screen space with Parineeti Chopra in the Amar Singh Chamkila biopic.
