Amritpal Singh Dhillon, known as AP Dhillon, has been riding high on the success of his hit music. Offering audiences a glimpse into his life, Prime Video’s recently released docu-series, AP Dhillon: First of a Kind, delves into his journey from being a business student to a pop sensation. While the series features an emotional tribute to his grandmother, it notably lacks presence of other women.

In an interview with Film Companion, AP Dhillon was questioned about the absence of women in show, which heavily features his male collaborators. He explained, “A lot comes with it (fame) good or bad. At least we try our best to keep our personal life away from this. I feel like we are public enough. We have a right to keep our personal life private.” The singer went on to say that women have a lot of presence in his videos.

The premiere of the singer’s docu-series, which was organised in Mumbai on August 17, was attended by Bollywood’s biggest names. These included Salman Khan and Ranveer Singh. Other artists such as Badshah, MC Stan, Shinda Kahlon, and Harrdy Sandhu also graced the event in style.

AP Dhillon recently unveiled a music video titled ‘With You,’ featuring Banita Sandhu of October fame. The chemistry between the two was palpable in the video, sparking speculation about their relationship. Rumours began circulating after their collaboration in the music video. On August 19, Banita Sandhu confirmed her relationship with AP Dhillon by sharing a series of affectionate photos on her Instagram profile. Accompanied by a heart emoji, her caption read, “With me.”

During the interview, Dhillion also opened up on how speculations about his personal life bother him. He said, “This was another reason for me to do this docu-series. Everybody has an image of you from what they have seen on social media. They don’t know what kind of a human you are, but it comes with fame. So when my fans watch this docu-series, they will know me more than music.”
