Fahadh Faasil, in a recent interview, addressed the speculation whether he is the highest-paid villain in the country. It is said that the actor has received a fortune for his role as  SP Bhanwar Singh Shekawat in Allu Arjun’s upcoming film Pushpa: The Rule. According to reports, he has charged a fee of Rs 7 crore for the role, an exorbitant sum for the role of a villain in Indian cinema.
In a recent interview, Fahadh was asked whether he is the highest-paid villain in the country. “Money is of course a factor, but it is not the only factor. Something has to excite me to make me leave my house. And it is not just money. I absolutely love interacting with Sugu (director Sukumar) Sir. I know every time I need him, he is there. So, we were making a commercial Indian film. I go there with that understanding. And there is happiness in working around with everyone there. I absolutely enjoy it. But I don’t know if I am the highest-paid villain in the country,” he said.
Fahadh added that he doesn’t have to act in such films to make a lot of money. “I made money with Kumbalangi Nights and Trance. I don’t have to make money from acting. I don’t have to depend on that. I come from a family which has been making cinema for 40 years. I know how unstable the business is. I can manage the financial instability, but I am worried about the instability as an individual. I have seen people change. I wish I stay stable regardless of my films doing well or badly. I came to do two films and go back. Everything else is a bonus.”
Fahadh Faasil is currently basking in the success of Avesham. His character Ranga in the film has become a sensation for his eccentric nature, which has yet again made the actor a favourite even beyond the state of Kerala. As far his upcoming ventures go, the Malayalam star is currently acting in Rajinikanth’s Vettaiyan, which according to Fahadh Faasil is a job he accepted for his love for the superstar. Fahadh is playing a comic role in the movie according to reports. Other than Vettaiyan, he is acting Pushpa: The Rule and Maareesan.
