On Day 1, Bha Bha Bha earned Rs 6.75 crore, according to industry tracker Sacnilk.

Many users on X (formerly Twitter) have argued that the film relies too much on nostalgia and doesn’t have a proper structure. Others argue that the film’s purpose was always to be a fun and loud flick and that it does its job brilliantly.
Earlier, dubbing artiste Bhagyalakshmi had criticised Mohanlal for sharing the poster of Bha Bha Bha. Speaking at the International Film Festival of Kerala (IFFK), she had said, “On the very day the verdict came, isn’t it the same Mohanlal whom we all love who released that poster? Shouldn’t one stop for a moment and think what one is doing? We also heard him say he is praying for both ‘him’ and ‘her’. All this is part of the financial space Dileep has created.” Mohanlal also received criticism for doing a role in the film.
Directed by Dhananjay Shankar, the cast of Bha Bha Bha includes, Dileep, Mohanlal, Dhyan Sreenivasan, Balu Varghese, Vineeth Sreenivasan, and Saranya Ponvannan.

It read, "Watched #bhabhaba , My personal opinion, not a Review: Firstly, i have watched it on a Full-house theater & the audience was also so much energetic. So there was cheering & whistling on each dialogues & elevation scenes. This ambience influenced my overall movie experience on a positive way. Coming to the movie, firstly we all know that as they promoted like this is a completely logic-less & madness movie , but still at some scenes, we feel this is too much, over & irritating. Especially the opening scenes & those children's narrative was very much cringed experience for me. Dileepettan as being the hero, was very energetic & his acting & timing was very good. He has done a good action scene in the interval portion. The background score was also good, but at some portions it makes too much noice & causing head ache. Coming to Lalettan, he made the entire theatre shattering, each & every scenes of him was celebrated well inside the theater. But i personally disappointed about the look of Lalettan, especially the wig wasn't suiting him. If he was on his original natural look, then it would be double effective. Technical side was felt like average, especially VFX scenes was very poor quality. Script was also not much interesting, but the movie has a good pace, so we won't feel lag at anytime. It was engaging. Overall, it was a good theatre experience for me, especially because of the crowd. If you watching it after this weekend or on Mobile screens after OTT, the movie won't work as like this. We can watch it for a Celebration mode theater watch especially with Lalettan fans."

Bha Bha Ba released amid public outrage after Dileep was acquitted in the actor sexual assault case. Now, a tasteless double entendre joke in the film has drawn public ire. News Minute reported that a scene shows a character Godson Ancharakandy (played by Dhyan Sreenivasan) points out another person whom he calls a “professional kidnapper”. He then reveals he once “he kidnapped and milked" Ramani. It is later revealed that Ramani was a cow. The joke is especially tasteless when seen through the lens of the actor's sexual assault case

He added, "While Dileep has been cleared of all charges, the survivor has maintained that “the real mastermind remains free, with only hired accomplices convicted”. And with television channels and social media debates raging, he is facing significant backlash from the public."
Trade site Sacnilk shared that Dileep and Mohanlal-starrer Bha Bha Ba had an overall 63.16% Malayalam occupancy in the Morning Shows on Thursday, December 18, 2025. By 3 pm the film made about Rs 1.89 Cr India net.

Some fans thought that Bha Bha Ba couldn't stand on its own and that Mohanlal's cameo was the only thing keeping it together. A user posted Bha Bha Ba review on X, "A proper gimmick with a good 1st half and a weak second half. Started with some genuine comedy. Decent making. A super interval scene. Dileep's recent best. L's (Mohanlal) cameo is forced in the storyline. Poor climax. While another wrote, "The only positive about the film is Mohanlal's presence. Otherwise it’s trash."
Mohanlal, who has been receiving praise for his extended cameo in Dileep-starrer Bha Bha Ba, was recently criticised by Malayalam dubbing artist Bhagyalakshmi for sharing the poster of the film. Calling Mohanlal's action "insensitive" and "thoughtless", Bhagyalakshmi told reporters at the International Film Festival of Kerala, "Did Mohanlal even pause for a moment before sharing that poster? When someone with that kind of influence does this, what message is being sent to survivors? This is not about cinema alone anymore. This is about ethics. It is about what we choose to endorse publicly."

Mohanlal's cameo in the film stood out for a lot of fans, as an X fan hailed the National Award winner and wrote, "The moment Mohanlal enters, the film shifts gears completely.
