AMMA members Rachana Nayanakutty and Honey Rose have moved the Kerala High Court seeking to implead themselves in the abduction and sexual assault of a female actor case.
Dileep row: The AMMA office bearers will meet the members of WCC on August 7 in Kochi to discuss the rationale behind their decision to reinstate actor Dileep.
Mohanlal had said at a recent press conference that there was no dissenting voice from any actor when the decision
to take Dileep back into AMMA’s fold was taken at its general body meeting held in Kochi last month.
Mohanlal said since Dileep has stated that he would not return to AMMA until he is exonerated of the charges, technically and legally he (Dileep) is not in the organisation. Once Dileep is cleared off all charges, he can return to AMMA, said Mohanlal.
AMMA president Mohanlal said on Monday that no member of the film body objected to actor Dileep’s reinstatement when the subject was discussed at the general body meeting last month.
Malayalam Movie Artists (AMMA) has agreed to hold a meeting with the members of WCC and discuss their grievances regarding the reinstatement of Dileep in the film body.
As many as 50 prominent members of the Kannada film industry, including Rakhsit Shetty, Prakash Raj, Shraddha Srinath, Sruthi Hariharan among others have endorsed the letter demanding the Malayalam actors’ guild to withdraw its decision on Dileep.
Association of Malayalam Movie Actors (AMMA) president Mohanlal on Saturday said the film body was willing to consider Women in Cinema Collective’s grievances against the reinstatement of actor Dileep.

Amma row: The CPM, however, took exception to the move to single out actors and party-backed MLAs K B Ganesh Kumar and Mukesh, and Innocent, a party-backed MP.
The row over Dileep’s re-induction into AMMA refused to die down even after he said he would not return till being cleared in the case of abducting and sexually assaulting an actress, with activists on Friday taking out a protest march against Mohanlal.

Dileep was removed from AMMA last year after he was arrested in the case pertaining to the abduction and sexual assault of an actress. The annual general body of AMMA recently decided to reinduct the actor.
