Bazooka box office collection day 1: Mammootty's action thriller collects Rs. 3.25 crores on its first day of release, which is an improvement on his last release, Dominic and the Ladies Purse.

Mammootty’s action thriller Bazooka hit the theatres on April 10, and opened with decent numbers at the box office. According to the tracker Sacnilk’s early estimates, the film managed to earn Rs. 3.25 crores net in India on its first day. The Malayalam film received mixed reviews from the audience but drew numbers majorly because of the actor’s star power and fan following.
On its day one of release on Thursday, Bazooka had an overall occupancy of 48.53% at the theatres. It gradually improved during the day as the night shows recorded a 61.66% theatre occupancy.
According to Sacnilk’s regional data, the movie performed it’s best in Kerala and the lowest in Mumbai. Kochi recorded a 75.50% overall occupancy, with the night shows reaching a 95% peak. Trivandrum had a 52.75% overall occupancy, while Chennai and Bengaluru recorded moderate theatre footfall at 45% and 25.25% respectively.

Mammootty’s previous films Turbo and Dominic and the Ladies’ Purse also failed to attract audience and recorded average numbers at the box office. The actor, who had been on something of a golden run before that, also faced criticism for choosing poor films. The mystery-comedy thriller, which released on January 23, had a lifetime collection of Rs. 17.5 crores worldwide. It had earned earned Rs. 1.50 crores on day one of its release, which is lower than Bazooka’s opening numbers. Turbo, on the other hand, earned over Rs 6 crore on day 1.
SCREEN’s Anandu Suresh gave the film 1.5 stars and wrote, “Strangely enough, Mammootty has managed to pull Mammootty down from that thumping ride, making himself deliver consecutive exasperating films. After the disappointing Turbo (2024) and the amateurish Dominic and the Ladies’ Purse (2025), the megastar has now served yet another dull dud, Bazooka, in which style meets… well, it would have been nice if it had met somebody, but unfortunately, it doesn’t and ends up as the sole guest at a lavishly arranged part.”
I is written and directed by Deeno Dennis in his directorial debut. Besides the superstar, the film also features Gautham Vasudev Menon in a pivotal role.
