Trailers of Marvel’s Captain America: A Brave New World, Thunderbolts are out: It is raining Disney-Pixar updates in Hollywood

At the D23 event in Brazil, Disney live action, Pixar and Walt Disney Animation Studios shared new details about their upcoming projects, including trailers. Simultaneously, Marvel Studios also launched the trailers of their much-anticipated titles, Captain America: A Brave New World, and Thunderbolts. 

Captain America: A Brave New World, which is set for a worldwide release on February 14, 2025, is a straight continuation of the Disney+ series, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. Directed by Julius Onah, the latest instalment of the fifth phase of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, follows Anthony Mackie’s Sam Wilson as the new Captain America, and the introduction of Harrison Ford as the newly elected US President and the Red Hulk. The action-packed trailer sets the stage for yet another international incident that threatens world peace, and needs members of the Avengers to set things right.

When a part of the Avengers is getting ready, Marvel is also planning to finish phase 5 with the entry of Thunderbolts, who also save the world, but are impulsive, non-conforming to institutional rules, and basically…  the anti-Avengers. The trailer of the film, which will hit the screens on May 2, 2025, features a terrific ensemble lead by Florence Pugh, Sebastian Stan, David Harbour, and Olga Kurylenko.

Back in the D23 event, Disney announced that Ice Age 6 was in production, and it was revealed that the original cast, including Ray Romano, Queen Latifah and John Leguizamo, will be joined by Denis Leary and Simon Pegg in the sixth instalment of the much-loved franchise. 

It was raining sequels’ announcement at the event where director Barry Jenkins met enthusiastic fans, and launched the new trailer of Mufasa: The Lion King, which is set to hit theatres on December 20. Another interesting update was the release of the trailer of the live-action adaptation of Disney’s Snow White, headlined by Rachel Zegler. The film is set to hit theatres on March 21, 2025. It is interesting how Disney has a packed release calendar in 2025 with the live-action adaptation of Lilo and Stitch expected to hit theatres on May 23, 2025.

Apart from the announcements of these adaptations, fans at the event also had Jared Leto meet them through video conferencing and talk about TRON: Ares, which will hit screens worldwide on October 10, 2025.

Just like Disney fans were jubilant about the back-to-back updates, Pixar fans got to see the exclusive new trailer of the studio’s upcoming film, Elio. The film, which is about a space fanatic with an active imagination, is set to open worldwide on June 13, 2025. The fans also got to have a peek into the world of Hoppers, which is about Mabel, an animal lover, who gets to transfer her consciousness into a robotic beaver. 

Finally, Pixar hit their fans with a 1-2 blow by giving them an opportunity to fall in love with the protagonists of Toy Story all over again as the fifth instalment of the franchise is set to hit theatres on June 19, 2026, and the return of the Parr Family in Incredibles 2. 

Finally, Walt Disney Animation Studios capped off the event by sharing a sneak peek into Moana 2, which hits theatres on November 29. In addition, the makers also brought in Auli‘i Cravalho and Dwayne Johnson through video conferencing to give a shout out to the fans, who are waiting to see the new journey of Moana. And the biggest scoop of the night was reserved for the return of Shakira in Zootopia 2, which hits theatres in November 2025.

D23 is the first official club for fans in Disney’s over 100-year history.
