Whenever artists or creators from two different worlds come together, it makes for great stories. Something similar happened recently when actor Timothée Chalamet sat down for a chat with current WWE champion Cody Rhodes. The two talked about their love for music and professional wrestling while explaining the common threads in the two businesses. Chalamet also shared an interesting anecdote about actor-turned-wrestler Dave Bautista.

Chalamet is known for his love for sports, as he is seen passionately cheering on the New York Knicks during their home games. His love for sports also includes professional wrestling, especially WWE and the now-disbanded ECW. Talking about the same, Chalamet was asked about his experience of working with ‘Big Dave’ on the sets of Dune and what he is like as an actor. The Marty Supreme star was almost jumping out of his chair while talking about Dave and shared how he greeted him during the initial days of the shoot.

He said, “I just knocked on his trailer door, and I had the animal theme song playing, and we hadn’t even met yet. I got in his trailer, and I was going like that (mimicking Dave’s entry celebration). The look on his face was priceless; he just couldn’t believe it. He had absolutely no clue, and I love working with him. He’s a very serious guy and a very serious actor.”

Chalamet shared another funny incident with Bautista, which actually happened during the Academy Awards, when Chalamet was nominated in the Best Actor category for his Bob Dylan biopic A Complete Unknown. Recalling the incident, he said, “The last time I saw Dave, I couldn’t locate my mom at the Oscars. I feel bad because I hope he didn’t think that I was ‘Hollywooding’ him. He was saying ‘hi’, and I literally couldn’t locate where my mother was. If you’re seeing this, Dave, I hope I haven’t shot myself in the foot. I love you, man.”

The actor went on to talk about his favourite pay-per-view events, such as ECW’s iconic One Night Stand, and the wrestlers he has looked up to, such as John Cena, The Undertaker, Bogeyman, Rey Mysterio and, obviously, Dave Bautista.

Chalamet will be seen next in Marty Supreme, which has been directed by Josh Safdie.
