Ringo Starr not performing at Olympics next year

Ringo Starr has backed out from performing at the London Olympics insisting he will be busy on a tour.

‘Beatles’ legend Ringo Starr has backed out from performing at the London Olympics next year, insisting he will be busy on a tour at the time of the games.

The 71-year-old was supposed to perform with fellow member of the band Paul McCartney at the games. The others to perform at the event are Mick Jagger and John Lydon, which will be directed by Danny Boyle, reported Contactmusic.

“I’ll be touring America so I won’t be doing it,” Starr said.

The earlier reports suggested that the organisers wanted the duo to perform either at the opening or closing ceremony at the games, but none of them had confirmed the reports.
