Katie Holmes’ loss is Lohan’s gain

Lindsay Lohan bagged a much needed role in film 'The Other Side' after Katie Holmes was forced to pull out.

Actress Lindsay Lohan bagged a much needed role in film ‘The Other Side’ after Katie Holmes was forced to pull out due to her busy schedule.

Lohan has been struggling to land substantial scripts since 2004 hit ‘Mean Girls’ as film producers find it difficult to obtain insurance for the hard-partying star.

But filmmaker David Michaels has taken a chance on Lohan, recruiting her for the role Holmes had to turn down due to her commitment to Broadway play ‘All My Sons’.

Lohan has another reason to thank Holmes as the ‘Batman begins’ actress had worked hard to fine tune the character before leaving it,Femalefirst reported.

“Katie would call me from Berlin at 4 am her time to go over ideas and notes. We did this over successive weeks while she was there with Tom (Cruise) when he was filming Valkyrie. The result of our collaboration has tremendously improved the arc and dynamic of the lead character,” Michaels said.

Filmmaker is confident that Lohan has the ability to carry off the part despite her reputation as being a liability in Hollywood.

“Lindsay’s very aware of people’s perceptions of her.
