It’s A Girl

The Bachchans and the Rais,over the last two days,have been by Aishwarya’s side at the hospital where the security had been intensified and an entire floor cordoned off for the family. Sources reveal that Aishwarya went into labour at 4am on Wednesday morning and had a normal delivery.

Abhishek’s sister Shweta Nanda,Abhishek’s friend Goldie Bahl’s wife Sonali Bendre and family’s close associate and politician Amar Singh were among the first to visit the mother and the newborn baby.

Good wishes started pouring in from industry members as well as from fans all over the world on Twitter. Writer-lyricist Javed Akhtar,whose association with Amitabh dates back to the early years of the actor’s career,tweeted,“Congratulations Amitabhji,this has evoked my memory of the day when Shweta was born. Time flies and how swiftly !!” Karan Johar,busy shooting his film Student of the Year,also took the time out to congratulate the proud father,“Congratulations!! Baby B had a baby girl!! @juniorbachchan!!! All the love and happiness…am sure she will be the prettiest girl ever!!!” Sonam Kapoor,Bipasha Basu,Riteish Deshmukh,Genelia D’Souza,Arjum Rampal and Abhishek’s close friend Rohan Sippy wrote too.

Unlike the Abhi-Ash wedding,the birth of youngest Bachchan saw the media keep itself in check. The birth of a girl child has dispelled many rumours doing rounds – that the Bachchans were hoping for a male heir and had planned the baby’s arrival on the auspicious date 11/11/11.
