Sadhana, Bollywood star and style icon, passes away at 74

Sadhana, the popular yesteryears actress and style icon passed away today (December 25) in Mumbai after a brief illness.

Sadhana, the actor who reigned over Bollywood as its style icon for many years, passed away in Mumbai on December  25 after a brief illness. The exact nature of her illness is yet to be ascertained. The veteran actress was 74 when she breathed her last at a Mumbai hospital.

The yesteryear’s beauty, who enthralled masses with her graceful performances in Hindi films in the 60s and 70s, had retired from public life long back. The actress only kept in touch with her old pals like Asha Parekh, Helen and Waheeda Rahman. The veteran actresses came to meet the relatives of their late friend Sadhana in the day.

Hiroo Johar, Karan Johar’s mother, also paid visit to the relatives of the late actress during the day time.

Sadhana was known for films like Love in Simla, Parakh, Hum Dono, Waqt, Woh Kaun Thi. She was married to Love in Simla director Ramkrishna Nayyar who passed away in 1995. Sadhana didn’t have any children.

The actress who famously introduced the fringe hairstyle also known as Sadhana cut. She was awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award by IIFA in 2002.
