The music of Aditya Dhar’s Dhurandhar, starring Ranveer Singh, has been grabbing eyeballs like the film itself. While Akshaye Khanna’s entry song Fa9la has gone viral for all the right reasons, many other tracks of the film are also topping the charts lately. One such song is the dance number Shararat, featuring Ayesha Khan and Krystle D’Souza. Now, Dhurandhar’s dance choreographer Vijay Ganguly has revealed that the first choice for the song was Tamannaah Bhatia, but director Aditya Dhar was against the idea.
Later on, Aditya convinced Vijay to star two dancers in the song, which is how Ayesha and Krystle were cast in the dance number. Vijay further added, “He (Aditya) didn’t want the attention to be about this one person. If it were Tamannaah, it would’ve been about her and not the story. Jo ho raha tha film mein, there was a lot going on, and if you go away from the story, then the song is just a cut-to song.”

Tamannaah Bhatia gained a lot of popularity for her item numbers and special dance appearances in recent movies, including, Kaavaalaa (Jailer), Aaj Ki Raat (Stree 2), Ghafoor (The Ba**ds of Bollywood), and many more. Talking about Dhurandhar’s song Shararat, it appears during Ranveer Singh’s character’s wedding celebration, when two dancers are seen performing to entertain the guests.
Written, co-produced and directed by Aditya Dhar, Dhurandhar also features Sara Arjun, Sanjay Dutt, Arjun Rampal, Akshaye Khanna, Rakesh Bedi, and R. Madhavan. The film has already crossed the Rs 500 crore mark at the domestic box office and Rs 800 crore worldwide. However, Dhurandhar has also been caught up in controversies since its release, for its alleged false propaganda.
