Varun Dhawan and Alia Bhatt both began their acting journeys with Karan Johar’s Student of the Year in 2012. Since then, their careers have taken distinct paths. Alia has risen to become a National Award-winning actor, known for her performances across diverse genres, while Varun has carved a niche for himself in the action and comedy space. Despite their differing trajectories, Varun recently shared that he and Alia still share a strong bond, and their conversations these days revolve around their daughters.

Speaking to the media, Varun revealed, “At the moment, the thing me and Alia discuss is babies. That’s all we are discussing. We are discussing our babies with each other and what should be done and what happens.” Alia and her husband, Ranbir Kapoor, welcomed their daughter, Raha, in 2022, while Varun and his wife, Natasha Dalal, became parents to their daughter, Lara, earlier this year.

Varun Dhawn also mentioned that their daughters have already met. “Raha and Lara have met, I think. Lara is still very small, but they have met,” he said.

Reflecting on fatherhood, Varun described it as a life-changing experience. “Being a father to a daughter is a unique experience. It shakes you completely, making you realise how much your thinking changes,” he shared. Varun also revealed his plans for Lara’s introduction to cinema. The actor said he wants her first movie-watching experience to be Student of the Year, the film that marked both his and Alia’s debut. “I think still the first one which she could watch is Student Of The Year only. I think that would be the first one she could watch because it’s a very easy watch for her,” Varun added.

Over the years, Varun Dhawan and Alia Bhatt have shared screen space in several films, including Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania (2014), Badrinath Ki Dulhania (2017), and Kalank (2019).

Currently, Varun is busy promoting his upcoming film Baby John, the official remake of Atlee’s Tamil blockbuster Theri. The film is set to release in theatres on December 25.
